Samsung Galaxy S5 could blow the iPhone out of the water
It seems that getting and staying ahead is the name of the game for Samsung, with more news appearing to confirm that the Galaxy S5 will get the much talked about 64-bit processor.
We've heard a lot about Samsung's desire to put in iPhone 5S-aping chips, and the Korea Herald reports that Samsung and ARM have already met to discuss its arrival next year.
A senior ARM official said "Executives from Samsung and ARM had a meeting today. They discussed the ARM 64-bit chip, which is expected to be used in Samsung's smartphone next year".
A move to a more powerful chipset is vital for, among other things, the increase in biometric data now handled by our mobile devices; the A7 chip allowed Apple's Touch ID, so this dovetails nicely with news Samsung is planning a fingerprint scanner in the Galaxy S5.
If you thought that it would end there though, you'd be wrong. It seems ARM isn't resting on its laurels, with a push to 128-bit chips in 2015.
Antonio Viana, ARM's executive vice president of commercial and global development said in a speech on connectivity and mobility in the future that in "shifting to face recognition on smartphones from the fingerprint scanner to unlock an iPhone, it requires more powerful memory capacity".
This could means that reports of the Samsung Galaxy S5 scanning our eyeballs to unlock may be a year too early.
There is no word on what devices the 128-bit chips would land in, but a 2015 launch would mean likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6S would arrive with them, assuming no radical changes in naming structure.

LOS ANGELES | Thu Jun 6, 2013 4:45pm EDT
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - After numerous starts and stops by Hollywood executives to project Judy Blume books onto the big screen, the best-selling author and her filmmaker son decided to make it happen.
The film adaptation of her 1981 young adult book "Tiger Eyes" opens in theaters on Friday and simultaneously on iTunes, DirecTV and On-Demand.
It was a family project, with Blume and her son, Lawrence Blume, writing the screenplay and producing the film. Lawrence directed the movie and Blume's husband of 26 years, George Cooper, was executive producer of the independently financed $2 million project.
"Tiger Eyes" is about a teenager named Davey, whose family moved from New Jersey to Los Alamos, New Mexico, to start a new life after the murder of her father.
"It sort of mirrored my own story of being pulled away from my life, my friends and my father in New Jersey and moving to this strange town of Los Alamos, New Mexico," said Lawrence, who directed the 2002 comedy film "Martin & Orloff."
Blume divorced his father, remarried, and moved Lawrence and his sister to New Mexico in the late 1970s.
The New York-based filmmaker collaborated with his mother, who lives in Key West, Florida, mainly by email and telephone.
"The biggest challenge was taking the book's first person inner monologue narrative and figuring out how to turn that into an actionable behavior that actors can play," he added.
Blume, 75, has sold more than 82 million books in 41 countries. Earlier attempts to make a feature film based on one of Blume's books had failed, said Lawrence, 50.
When British supermarket giant Tesco got into the film business a few years ago, Lawrence made a deal for "Tiger Eyes."
Working with his mother, he said, was "kind of magical."
"We don't live in the same city anymore, so it was really nice to be able to spend a lot of time with her," Lawrence said. "There was a joyful feeling on the set."
Shooting began in Santa Fe in the fall of 2010 with "Gossip Girl" actress Willa Holland and Amy Jo Johnson, who starred in the TV series "Felicity."
Blume said she would like to see big screen versions of her adult novels "Summer Sisters" and "Wifey." She is also working on a novel she began before production on "Tiger Eyes" began.
"Writers don't stop writing," said Blume. "So I want to continue to do more of the same."
Popular Windows Mobile puzzle game HexaLines finally arrives on Windows Phone | Windows Phone Central Skip to main content Android BlackBerry iPhone / iPad Windows Phone webOS SIGN UP|LOG IN Windows Phone Central Windows Phone CentralForumsNewsReviewsHelp & How ToDevicesAppsGamesContestsDevelopersEditorials Search Shop online Cases Chargers Batteries Bluetooth & More New accessories FREE Shipping on orders over $50 Read in WPCentral App 19 Popular Windows Mobile puzzle game HexaLines finally arrives on Windows Phone Games By Rich Edmonds, Sunday, Apr 28, 2013 at 9:17 pm
Popular Windows Mobile puzzle game HexaLines is already available for Windows 8, and has been for some time. Those of us who wield Windows Phones have had to wait until the developer eventually managed to get the game in a working state to release on the mobile platform. That time has now come. HexaLines is now available on the Windows Phone Store.
Optimised for both Windows Phone 7 and 8, HexaLines offers players the opportunity to compete against the computer (or friends) by adding hexagons on the plan (or by rotating existing ones) to fill pipes with a red-coloured liquid and beat the other players. It's a simple concept, but is extremely difficult to master. Players have to watch out for competing players and their own liquid and hexagon deployment.
The game ends when either one player remains or the entire plan is filled (with the highest score winning). If you've already got the title loaded on your Windows PC and / or tablet, you'll definitely want to check out the Windows Phone version to take the action on the move. 40 challenges are available to complete (including both simple and more difficult goals) to keep the player active.
Unfortunately there's no Xbox Live support so don't expect to unlock achievements. What you will find, however, is an interactive tutorial, a free trial, no in-app purchases and a launch sale to get you interested. The tutorial kicks off at the start of each and every game, but by interactive we mean it's there simply to remind the player during the first handful of turns and can be ignored (it doesn't get in the way).
Here's a trailer for HexaLines:
You can download HexaLines from the Windows Phone Store for $0.99 (currently 50 percent off), as well as Windows 8. We strongly urge you to at least check it out as it's fairly addictive indeed.
Rich Edmonds UK Editor
"The nice thing about Windows is, it doesn’t just crash, it displays a dialog box and lets you press “OK” first."

If I remember correctly simply go to your settings, then hit language+region, and change to your desired region (sounds as if you want access to all apps, so the United States or UK should do), and hit the restart phone button.

nope that won't do. you gotta change the region of your xbox live account to US or UK or anything else. (once changed, can't be changed again for three months.) but yes, switching to US gives you Zune/xbox music too. so you get artist images on lockscreen and music+videos tile. and also smart dj.

Seriously, why any indie publisher decides not to make their apps available worldwide to increase sales it's beyond me. *sighs*

Hello, thank you for your report! I have selected the worldwide distribution (included the Brazil), there had to be some problem with an ESRB certificate or something similar. I will take a look on it, I hope I will fix it... Thanks!

Hi Tomas. All you need to do to publish games here in Brazil is upload the PEGI or ESRB certificates in the place of the Brazilian one (DJCTQ) and select the match game rate. Any doubts you can ask me, I already helped a lot of developers like you to do this.
