Thanksgiving is a time to recognize and give thanks to all the hard working and wonderful pharmacy technicians who give their time, patience, knowledge, and loyalty in a variety of pharmacy practice settings. Have you given thanks to your fellow technicians or pharmacist yet? Show them you care this holiday with a few ideas of gratitude:
Staff luncheon or party. Have a staff luncheon or party with traditional thanksgiving dishes or ask each employee to bring something pot luck! This can be a good way to bring everyone together to celebrate the season and take in some good food as well. Be vocal. Ask each employee to give reasons why they are thankful and share the ideas at your party or luncheon. Small token of gratitude. Give your technicians a little token of thanks from the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) store. The gift does not have to be expensive, but will show technicians that you think of them as valued employees that make a difference in the lives of patients and pharmacy customers everyday.Pharmacy technicians serve as great ambassadors in the field and continue to help ensure patient safety, education, and knowledge daily. Be sure to thank your pharmacy technicians for all of their dedication to the pharmacy profession. NPTA wishes all the pharmacy technicians out there a very happy, healthy, and safe holiday!
